Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department will be accepting applications effective immediately for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications.
1. Minimum of 18 years of age at appointment.
2. Be a United State Citizen.
3. Possess a valid class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
4. Possess a high school diploma or GED
5. Shall have attained MOPETC Act 120 certification or have completed the police academy. Will also accept applications if currently enrolled in the police academy.
6. Shall not have any criminal conviction on any crime with a grading higher than a misdemeanor of the 3rd degree.
7. Be physically and psychologically fit to perform the duties of a police officer.
8. Must be able to pass an oral examination, background investigation, medical and psychological exam, and drug screen.
Current starting salary between $50,000 - $55,000 depending on experience. Top patrolman rate within 18 months.
Applications may be obtained at the Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department or online beginning January 5th, 2024. Applications must be returned to the Southern Armstrong Regional Police Department by 3pm on Friday, January 26, 2024. Pay is based on the current union contract.
